QUINCY JONES BORN DAY SUITE
I curated two hours of the master musician's music for his 89th birthday
https://worldwidefm.net/episode/suite-for-quincy-jones
To celebrate Q’s 89th born day I put together two hours of his music with an emphasis on his pop and r&b work with James Ingram, Patti Austin, George Benson, Chaka Khan and Michael Jackson, though his jazzy instrumental work is well represented as are his many collaborations with Frank Sinatra. The beauty of Q’s work is that I could together several other playlists of equal lenght and quality. Find the link above to www.worldwidefm.com.
I did an lenghty interview with him in 1982 that collected in The Nelson George Mixtape book, available via www.pacificpacific.pub, for $28. I also did a long essay on Quincy’s career for the Listen Up!
