A number of my books, both fiction and non-fiction, are going to be made into audio books over the next year. the first title is Blackface: Reflections on African-Americans and the Movies, which first published in the late ‘90s and has extensive coverage of the blaxploitation era, the ‘90s black film boom sparked by Spike Lee’s work and a look at the making of CB4, the cult hip hop comedy I co-wrote and produced with Chris Rock. The audio book is over eight hours long and perfect for reflecting how we got where we are in black film. There’s a link to Aubible at the top of the page.

If you’re old school I’ve also included a link to purchase the book itself.
FYI today I’ve also posted a one in a series of black music month interviews for subscribers only. Today’s piece profiles producer/writer/guitarist Nile Rodgers.
